Environmental Policy

Gunnersen takes environmental responsibility very seriously. We recognise and respect community sensitivity, given the nature of the business we are in; and endeavour to conduct all of our environmental policies and procedures with the utmost integrity.

Our environmental policies extend far beyond just complying with relevant laws and regulations:

Where no such laws or regulations exist, we apply our own rigorous standards of responsibility.

  • We minimise our residues and waste streams
  • We refrain from discharging hazardous materials into the air, ground or water
  • We minimise our consumption of energy and water
  • We are ever alert to recycling opportunities
  • We procure products globally from legal sources through the practical implementation of our Responsible Forest Product Purchasing Policy
  • We hold Chain of Custody certification with internationally recognised organisations that promote responsible stewardship of the world's forests.

Together with our Responsible Forest Product Purchasing Policy, our CoC certification helps to reassure Gunnersen clients that certified products purchased from us are from legal, well-managed forests, delivered to them by a participating distribution company. Gunnersen has taken care to ensure that an appropriate supply chain management framework is in place to maintain CoC system integrity.Further, the integration of Gunnersen's CoC system with its Management Information System (MIS) strengthens the company's commitment to good management principles. For all directly employed personnel and contractors these include occupational health and safety in the workplace, workplace rights and workplace training and development.
