AFS and FSC Chain of Custody Certification
Gunnersen is continuing its commitment to the responsible management and sustainability of global forest resources by obtaining Chain of Custody certification under both the Australian Forestry standard (AFS) and the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) schemes.
The AFS and FSC are both internationally recognised organisations run by independent third parties that promote responsible stewardship of the world's forests.
The objectives of the schemes are to:
Provide assurance to end users that the products they are purchasing came from a source that
- is legal, and
- is managed in such a way that it ensures positive:
- environmental outcomes
- social outcomes, and
- economic outcomes
Gunnersen understands the valuable role we play ensuring the integrity of forest products in the supply chain. Obtaining Chain of Custody enables us a verifiable connection between an end product and a certified source. Official recognition of the Chain of Custody certification is expected prior to the 30th June 2008.
