DEXIFORM F17

An imported formally constructed from mixes species veneers with eucalyptus core veneers, a plantation hardwood face and phenolic overlay. Dexiform F17 is ideal for general formwork use such as decks, retaining walls, bridges and culvert construction.

FORMrite F14

An Australian made quality plywood panel produced predominantly from graded Pinus radiate veneers. These are glued with phenol formaldehyde resin and overlaid with a hard durable resin impregnated paper to give concrete a smooth finish. The hard phenolic surface and high quality outer veneers make it durable and reusable. Ideal for general formwork use such as decks, retaining walls, bridges and culvert construction.

Note: With proper on-site care and installation, a good quality off-form finish can be achieved. Refer AS3610.

An imported high quality plywood constructed from mixed species of Tasmanian eucalyptus veneers. These are glued with phenol formaldehyde resin and overlaid with a hard durable resin impregnated paper. PERFORM F17 (12mm)

An imported high quality plywood constructed from total birch hardwood. These are glued with phenol formaldehyde resin and overlaid with a hard durable resin impregnated paper. Available in a 12mm thickness for systems designed to use thin formally. Durable and ideal for general formwork use such as decks, precast and tilt-up panel construction.

ARMOURFORM F17

An Australian made high quality plywood constructed from mixed species veneers with a hardwood face and phenolic overlay. Durable and ideal for general form use such as decks, precast and tilt-up panel construction.

HYPERFORM F22

An imported quality formply made to high performance and quality standards. The 13 ply total birch hardwood construction gives overall enhanced performance. Hyperform is highly rated in strength and stiffness, a design feature that can save money whilst also providing a superior cost effective formwork system. Hyperform is ideal for general formwork use such as decks, precast and tilt-up panel construction, tableforms, shutters, columns, conventional and system formwork, as well as heavy civil engineering and mining applications. Hyperform F22 can be used to achieve a good quality off-form finish. Refer AS3610.

ARMOURFORM F27
A total hardwood formply with a high density phenolic overlay. This premium quality, Australian made formply is designed and manufactured for fixed formwork applications. Armourform F27 has superior spanning capabilities and is ideal for tableforms, jumpforms, slipforms, shutters, heavy civil engineering and mining applications.

Good Practice

For class 2 or class 3 finish

PRINCIPLE 1

Most issues with off-form surface finishes are associated with moisture. Wherever possible protect the formwork from weather. This includes tarping where practical.

PRINCIPLE 2

The phenolic surface film used on formwork plywood is not impermeable to moisture. To ensure that moisture penetration is minimised, release agent and form oils must be used. Form oils and release agents assist in minimising moisture penetration where the phenolic surface film has been damaged.

PRINCIPLE 3

Plywood must be supplied to the jobsite flat. Any sheets showing bow or twist greater that 30mm should be returned to the manufacturer.

PRINCIPLE 4

Where flat plywood has been supplied, the formwork is responsible for any distortion following installation. Decks must be inspected prior to pouring and any distorted sheets likely to cause surface imperfections nailed and screwed flat. Sheets must be positively fixed. It is not adequate to rely on the weight of the concrete to flatten distorted formwork plywood sheets.

PRINCIPLE 5

Where severe weather exposure is expected, such as in summer months, consideration should be given to using thicker plywood with a heavier grade of phenolic surface film and a thinner face veneer. This will minimise both distortion and grain raising.

PRINCIPLE 6

Correct storage is critical to maximise the life of the formply and to maintain flatness. Formply should always be stored on 3 supports and protected from the weather.

DISCLAIMER: It is impossible to predict or guarantee the class of off-form finish or number or reuses as so much depends on the onsite care and installation. The class branding on formwork is only an indicator of the highest class that may be achieved on the first use with proper onsite care and installation. Please refer to our technical note on good practices required to reliably and consistantly achieve a Class 2 or Class 3 surface finish outlined in the principles above.

Formply (Hardfaced/Formrite)

Formply, other-wise known as Hardface, is a plywood made with a bond glue, radiata core and hardwood veneer faces with a high density overlay (HDO) resin impregnated finish that is smooth, perfect for use in concrete formwork and can be used several times.

Formwork in walls, floors, roofs, frames, bridges, dams, etc.
